Rehabilitation of  Four Culverts on I-395 in Montville and Thompson Beginning on April 28, 2014
The purpose of the project is to address the deterioration of four corrugated metal pipes by relining these pipes.  The culverts were evaluated by the Department and classified as being in poor condition.    The relining will be accomplished utilizing new corrugated metal pipe.  The project also involves repairs to the existing concrete end-walls, the removal of sediment at the structures, furnishing of baffles in the pipes to improve fish passage, upgrade of guiderail, joint and crack sealing of bituminous concrete pavement, and the installation of plantings.

DOT Project No. 170-2875 was awarded to New England Infrastructure, Inc. of Plainville, Connecticut at a cost of $1,369,943.50 on March 19, 2014, and the culvert linings are scheduled to be completed in November 2014. Installation of plantings will be completed in April 2015.
