Ramp Closure Schedule for Route 2 at Exit 9, Neipsic Road, and Exit 10, Route 83 in the Town of Glastonbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduling of intermittent on and off-ramp closures overnight for Route 2 Exit 9, Neipsic Road, and Exit 10, Route 83 in Glastonbury. The ramp closures will occur between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Friday beginning April 28 through November, 2014.

The ramp closures are required to allow for construction work that includes milling, paving and concrete removal at the interchanges and travel lanes approaching bridges. The work is part of a project that includes resurfacing, bridge and safety improvements on Route 2 in Glastonbury. The project limits are from approximately 300 feet east of the Commerce Street Bridge located between Exits 8 and 9, and to approximately 400 feet east of the Wassuc Road Bridge located between exits 10 and 11.

Exit 9 & 10 RAMP DETOUR INFO – Closed Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. beginning April 28 through November, 2014. Both ramps will not be closed at the same time.

Exit 9 (WB) On Ramp Detour

Travel west on Neipsic Road, turn right on New London Turnpike and follow New London Turnpike to Route 2 West on ramp.

Exit 9 (EB) Off Ramp Detour

Take Exit 8 East (Hebron Avenue), keep right at the fork and follow the signs for Hebron Avenue. Turn right onto Hebron Avenue and then left onto New London Turnpike. Follow New London Turnpike to Neipsic Road.

Exit 10 (WB) Off Ramp Detour

Continue on Route 2 West to Exit 8 turn right onto Oak Street and then a quick left onto Hebron Avenue. Follow Hebron Avenue and turn left onto the Route 2 East on ramp and follow Route 2 East to Exit 10.

Exit 10 (WB) On Ramp Detour

Continue on Route 83, Manchester Road and take ramp to Route 2 East. Follow Route 2 to Exit 12, Portland Road. At the bottom of the ramp turn left onto Portland Road and then turn left onto the ramp for Route 2 West

Exit 10 (EB) Off Ramp Detour

Continue on Route 2 West to Exit 12, Portland Road, turn left onto Portland Road and then turn left onto the ramp for Route 2 West and follow to Exit 10 off ramp.

Exit 10 (EB) On Ramp Detour

Continue South on Route 83, Manchester Road, to New London Turnpike. Turn Left onto New London Turnpike and at the fork bear right onto Wassuc Road. Follow Wassuc Road and bear right onto the Route 2 East on ramp.

DOT Project No. 0053-0186 was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut Inc. of New Britain, CT on August 26, 2013 at a cost of $21,796,099.41 and is scheduled to be completed in June 2015.
