The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the proposed reconstruction of Route 31(Main Street) on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Coventry High School, Lecture Hall, 78 Ripley Hill Road, Coventry, CT 06238.  Open house will be held between 7:00 – 7:30 p.m. with a formal presentation at 7:30 p.m.  Residents, commuters, business owners, and other interested individuals are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to learn about and discuss the proposed project.
The purpose of the project  is to improve safety by softening a sharp curve and flattening a

steep grade on Route 31 just south of Route 275.  The project will also provide a consistent roadway width, reduce the number of curb cuts, provide sidewalks, landscaping and streetscape amenities.

The public information meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning the proposed project.

The meeting facility is ADA accessible.  Language assistance may be requested by contacting the Department of Transportation’s Office of Communications (voice only) at (860) 594-3062 at least five working days prior to the meeting.  Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to requests for assistance.

Plans will be available for public review.  Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.  More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.
