Nighttime Installation of New Gate Valves on West Main Street in Waterbury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Waterbury Bureau of Water will be doing a nighttime project of installing new gate valves on the water main on SR 847 (West Main St.) between Gilbert Street and Willow Street in Waterbury, beginning Friday, September 12, at 6 pm.
The project consists of excavating two separate locations in the road to install new gate valves on a 30 inch and 36 inch diameter water main. This project is scheduled to occur from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 to the morning of Monday, September 15, 2014.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists should expect the road to be closed in both directions from Gilbert Street to Willow Street from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Friday, September 12, 2014 to the morning of Monday, September 15, 2014. This work zone is located approximately 29 feet east of Gilbert Street on SR 847 (West Main Street) in Waterbury. Barricades, traffic control signing pattern, variable message sign boards and detour route(s) will be utilized to guide motorists around the work zone. The city of Waterbury Police Department will be maintaining the detour and supplying all traffic control.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
