Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along Route 2 in East Hartford

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge maintenance will begin Tuesday, October 14, 2014, on six bridges along Route 2 in East Hartford. Lane closures will be required.

      The bridges are:

·         Route 2 over East River Drive

·         Route 2 over Willow Street Ext.

·         Route 2 over Ensign Street

·         Route 2 over High Street

·         Route 2 over Main Street

·         Route 2 over Sutton Ave

      This project is scheduled to occur from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, to the morning of Friday, November 21, 2014. 

      This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2014 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Costello Industries.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 2 EB and WB between Exit 3 and Exit 5D in East Hartford.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday-Friday evenings).

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
