Merritt Parkway Line Striping from Stamford to New Canaan

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that new line striping will be installed on the Merritt Parkway (Route 15) in both Northbound and Southbound left shoulder and lane line skips (“dotted” lines for passing zones) on Thursday, January 9, 2014.

In order to increase safety and visibility the existing pavement marking along the left shoulder and lane line skips will be refreshed with epoxy paint, weather permitting.  This will occur in both Northbound and Southbound throughout the length of the project.  The project limits extend from the Greenwich town line in Stamford just north of Exit 31, North Street, to the vicinity of Exit 37, Route 124 (South Avenue) in New Canaan.

The right shoulder and gore area pavement marking will be refreshed in a similar fashion on the next available weather permitting date and a reminder notice will be issued.

DOT Project No.0135-0270 was awarded to O&G Industries of Torrington, Connecticut, at a cost of $56,912,776.99 on July 23, 2013 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2015. In addition to the line striping, the contract includes bridge repairs, landscaping and other work along the Parkway. The project is being administered by the Department of Transportation, Office of Construction, District 3, New Haven.
