Installation of Epoxy Resin Markings on Various Routes in Hartford and Middlesex Counties
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work is to start on Sunday, July 20, 2014, for installation of pavement markings. The first area of work is along Route 20 in East Granby.
The project consists of complete replacement of all existing pavement markings on several non-interstate routes throughout the state. The project is one of the several projects awarded to multiple contractors for replacement of pavement markings throughout the state on both interstate and secondary roadways. Many of the edge/shoulder lines and skip lines being replaced will be recessed into a machined groove to increase visibility during all weather conditions and to extend the service life of the markings.
This project covers the following routes and towns:
Route 2 from Hartford to Glastonbury
Route 3 from Glastonbury to East Hartford
Route 9 from Middletown to New Britain
Route 17 in Glastonbury
Route 20 from East Granby to Windsor Locks
Route 66 in Middlefield
Route 72 from Plainville to Bristol
SSR 401 in Windsor Locks
DOT Project No. 0171-0380 was awarded to Hi-Way Safety Systems at a cost of $487,120.00 on June 3, 2014 and is scheduled to be completed by October 8, 2014.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
The majority of the work will be performed at night and will be a moving operation with intermittent closures of lanes and portions of ramps to complete the work. Please use caution around this operation as these vehicles will be moving slower than posted speeds and when possible move over to provide them a buffer lane during work activity.
