Bridge Repairs in Eastern Connecticut

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that bridge repairs will be performed on various bridges in eastern Connecticut beginning Monday, August 11, 2014

      This work is scheduled to occur periodically August 11 to November 28, 2014 on the following bridges:    

Portland:                               Route 17 M.P. 26.12-28.15

Franklin:                              Route 32 M.P. 18.6–23.79

Lyme:                                   Route 148 M.P. 14.88–16.35

Plainfield to Killingly:                Route 664 M.P. 0.00–5.70

E. Lyme to Waterford:             Route 1 M.P. 2.46–94.83

Westbrook:                            Route 1 M.P. 74.14–77.87

Preston to Norwich:                 Route 12 M.P. 8.9–12.12

N. Stonington:                        Route 216: M.P 0.00–2.46

Bozrah:                                 Route 608 M.P. 2.4–4.32

Clinton to Westbrook:              Route 1 M.P. 70.66–74.14

Thompson:                            Route 197 M.P. 10.3–10.97

Colchester:                            Route 2 WB M.P. 20.37–24.32

Montville:                               Route 395 NB M.P. 5.48–9.29

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is Monday – Friday.  Shoulder work may occur between 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Limited lane closures are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  No lane closures will occur during Labor Day, September 1, 2014, Columbus Day, Oct. 13, 2014 and Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2014 (Friday – Monday). These bridges may also require nighttime lane closures between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
