Utility Project on High Street and Main Street (SR 517) in East Hartford will Require a Detour

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a utility project on High Street and Main Street (SR 517) in East Hartford will require a detour.The utility project consists of a sewer main installation on High Street and Main Street (SR 517) in East Hartford. This project is scheduled to occur the evening of Sunday, May 12, 2013 to the morning of Friday, July 26, 2013.

This project is being performed by B & W Paving under an Encroachment Permit.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

On May 12, 2013 to May 17, 2013, motorists can expect lane closures on Southbound High Street between Brewer Street and Carter Street. The Northbound Main Street portion of the work will begin on Sunday, May 19, 2013, and will require a detour to be implemented while work is being performed. Motorists will use the following routes during the detour: Brewer Street, High Street, Naubuc Avenue, Main Street, Sutton Avenue, and Oxford Drive. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday evenings). No work will be performed during the Memorial Day and July 4^th holidays (including the day before and after). The detour will be in use until project completion (July 26, 2013).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
