The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Interstate 84 westbound will be closed at Exit 1 in Danbury from 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 21 through Sunday, September 22, 2013. The westbound closure is expected to significantly impact streets in the city of Danbury, especially near Exits 2 and 1.  Motorists are cautioned that extensive delays may occur along I-84 and the detour roadways that include Route 6/202.

Lane closures and traffic control will begin at 3:30 p.m. on I-84, Route 6/202, and some of the local roads in preparation for the full closure of I-84 westbound occurring at 5 PM Saturday.

The New York State Department of Transportation is replacing two bridges carrying Interstate 84 eastbound and westbound over Dingle Ridge Road in the Town of Southeast, Putnam County. The work is being accelerated to minimize traffic impacts, but will require the interstate to be closed in that area during two weekends.
