Traffic Stoppages Scheduled for Interstate 95 Between Exits 4 and 5 To Install New Steel for the Bridge Carrying Lockwood Lane over Interstate 95 in the Town of Greenwich

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that traffic traveling I-95 between Exit 4 (Indian Field Road) and Exit 5 (U.S. Route 1) will be stopped for a period not to exceed 10 minutes for erection of the structural steel.  The work is scheduled to occur between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 a.m. Thursday, August 22 and September 5 for I-95 southbound and Tuesday, September 3, 2013 for I-95 northbound.  All work is weather permitting.

      The project consists of full replacement of the Bridge No. 00017 that carries Lockwood Lane over the interstate.  The work includes a new bridge deck, bridge bearings, parapets, protective fence and sidewalks.  The work also includes substructure repairs involving concrete patching and crack filling at the abutments and piers.
