Traffic Loop Installation on Route 218 in West Hartford and Bloomfield;

Lane Closures Required

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a traffic loop installation project will be performed on Route 218 in West Hartford and Bloomfield beginning August 28, 2013.

      The project will be performed on a 2.68 mile segment of Route 218, Wednesday, August 28, to Friday September 13, 2013.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

      Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 218 at Route 189, Route 218 atCigna Driveway, Route 218 at Cigna South Driveway, and Route 218 at Route 185.Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weekdays). No work will be performed on Labor Day (Monday, September 2, 2013) or Tuesday, September 3, 2013.

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
