Route 9 Southbound Off Ramp To Chestnut Street and Route 9 Northbound Ramp to Route 72 West in New Britain To Be Closed Monday, April 22, 2013, to Friday, April 26, 2013, each night from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Route 9 southbound Exit 27 (left hand exit to Chestnut Street) and Route 9 northbound exit ramp to Route 72 westbound (Exit 28 - left hand exit) in New Britain will be closed from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013, to Friday, April 26, 2013.
The ramp closures are necessary for the safe removal of the existing bridge that carries an abandoned rail line over Route 9 and extends over various on and off ramps that includes Chestnut Street ramp.  The work is part of Contract C1 for the New Britain to Hartford Busway project from Main Street to Stanley Street in New Britain. 
DETOUR INFO- Detour signs will be posted to assist motorists.

Route 9 northbound exit ramp to Route 72 westbound (Exit 28 - left hand exit) will be closed. Route 72 westbound traffic will be directed to continue on Route 9 northbound. At Exit 29 traffic will be directed to Route 9 southbound then to Exit 28 to Route 72 westbound.

Route 9 southbound exit ramp to Chestnut Street (Exit 27 - left hand exit) will be closed. Traffic will be directed to the Ellis Street off ramp (Exit 25) and access Chestnut Street via Columbus Boulevard.
