Revised Hours for Lane Closures on Interstate 84 Eastbound in Newtown

Beginning Monday August 5, 2013

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the left lane of I-84 eastbound traffic in Newtown will be closed during the hours of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday August 5, 2013 through Thursday August 8, 2013.

      The additional daytime closures are required to allow for driving of sheeting for temporary support during excavation for the eastbound bridge over Center Street. 

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

      DOT Project No. 0096-0194/195 was awarded to Manafort Brothers, Inc. at a cost of $5,919,944.30 on August 17, 2012 and is scheduled to be completed in April 2015.
