Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 06583 Carrying Route 17 over Parmalee Brook in the Town of Durham
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 1, 2013, for the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 06583 carrying Route 17 over Parmalee Brook in the Town of Durham.

The project consists of the replacement of Bridge # 06583 as part of the Fix it First Transportation Initiative.  The existing structure is a culvert deteriorated and undermined along the footings and will be replaced with a 70-foot long, 4-foot diameter corrugated aluminum pipe with a concrete headwall at the inlet and outlet.

The proposed 32-foot road width will be reconstructed on either side of the structure to accommodate a 12-foot travel lane and 4-foot shoulder in each direction and new guide rail will be installed.

DOT Project No. 0037-0099 was awarded to Guerrera Construction Company, Inc., of Oxford, CT, on January 31, 2013, at a value of $ 211,177.00 and is scheduled for completion by September 22, 2013.
