Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00303, Moosup Pond Road over Interstate 395 in the Town of Plainfield
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of construction on Monday, June 17, 2013, for the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00303, Moosup Pond Road over I-395 in the town of Plainfield.

The project consists of the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00303, Moosup Pond Road over I-395 in the town of Plainfield. Rehabilitation work will include the replacement of a damaged beam, deck repairs, modifications to parapet walls & substructure and increasing the vertical clearance on I-395 by an additional six inches.

DOT Project No. 0107-0178 was awarded to Northern Construction Services, LLC of Weymouth, MA on April 18, 2013 at a cost of $1,587,708 and is currently estimated to be complete on or before October 30, 2013.

The project is being administered by the Department of Transportation, Office of Construction in District 2, Norwich.

LANE CLOSURE INFO -

Moosup Road- lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Thursday, July 18, when alternating one way traffic will be in effect continuously using temporary signals 24 hours/day. 

I-395 shoulder or lane closures 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

SPECIAL ADVISORY:

A full closure of Moosup Pond Road (at the bridge) is to be in place to jack the bridge structure. The closure will require a detour and will be for a maximum of 10 consecutive days within the period July 8 – August 16. A separate press release will be issued approximately two weeks in advance of this closure.
