Reconstruction of Mount Vernon Road Project Scheduled to Start from West Center Street to Roaring Brook Drive in Southington
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the project to reconstruct Mount Vernon Road from West Center Street to Roaring Brook Drive in Southington is scheduled to begin Monday, April 1, 2013.

The project consists of full depth reconstruction of Mount Vernon Road for approximately 3900 feet to provide a uniform road width of 30' (with two-11' lanes and two-4' shoulders) from 320 feet south of West Center Street to just north of Roaring Brook Drive.  The work includes replacement of the storm drainage system, upgrades to guide rail system and relocation of utilities.

DOT Project No. 0131-0198 was awarded to King Construction, Inc. of Bloomfield, CT on December 14, 2012, at a cost of $2,063,093.17 and is scheduled to be completed in May 2014.
