Public Information Meeting Concerning the Replacement of of Bridge No. 01127, Route 80 (Foxon Road) over Farm River in North Branford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a follow-up Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed replacement of Bridge No. 01127, Route 80 (Foxon Road) over Farm River on Tuesday, November 12, 2013, at 7:30 p.m. at the North Branford Town Hall, Council Chambers, 909 Foxon Road in North Branford. 

The primary purpose of this project is to replace the existing Bridge No. 01127, which carries Route 80 (Foxon Road) over the Farm River.  The structure is structurally deficient and functionally obsolete.  The proposed project comprises the design of a new bridge to replace the existing structure with associated approach roadway safety improvements.  The new bridge structure will be constructed using the concept of a temporary bridge bypass to maintain two-lanes of the current opposite directional traffic. 

Construction of this project is anticipated to begin in spring 2016 and would be completed in one to two-year construction season.  The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $3.1 million.  This project is anticipated to be funded using part Federal and supplemented with State funds.

The follow-up Public Information Meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project.

Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.  More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.  Anyone wishing to discuss the project may contact Mr. Sowatei K.
