Public Information Meeting Concerning Proposed Bridgeport Station Improvements and Canopy Installation
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public informational meeting concerning proposed Bridgeport Station improvements and canopy installation on the Metro-North New Haven line in the City of Bridgeport.
The presentation will cover the proposed installation of a new canopy across the entire length of the eastbound platform and extending the existing canopy over the westbound platform to the south past the openings of the southern stairwell and to the skywalk leading to the Bridgeport Parking Garage. The new canopy will closely mimic the existing canopy. Also, proposed platform improvements will include upgrades to PA system, communications systems, benches, platform lighting and resurfacing of the platform deck.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014, at the City Council Chambers of Bridgeport City Hall located at 45 Lyon Terrace in Bridgeport.  Department personnel will be available at 6:30 pm to answer questions prior to a formal design presentation at 7:00 pm.

Construction will take place starting 2014 and complete 2016 at an estimated cost ranging between $5 and $7.5 million.

The meeting facility is ADA accessible.  Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend this meeting and requiring an interpreter must make arrangements by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications at (860) 594-3062 (voice only) at least five working days prior to the meeting.  Language assistance is provided at no cost to the public, and efforts will be made to respond to requests for assistance.
