On Ramp to I-91 North from State Road 702 (Wharton Brook Connector) in Wallingford Closed Overnight Friday October 11, 2013
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the overnight closure of the on ramp to I-91 North from State Road 702 which is also referred to as the Wharton Brook Connector between U.S. Route 5 and Interstate 91.  The closure is needed to install temporary barrier along the shoulders to allow for work on the overpass.
The project consists of various repairs on five structures including the painting of the beam ends, bearing replacement and steel repairs at locations listed below.  
Bridge Locations

Site 1- Bridge #00347, Route U.S. 1 over Hammonasset River at Milford/Clinton town line.

Site 2- Bridge #03093, I-91 NB/SB over the Quinnipiac River in New Haven.

Site 3- Bridge #03126, I-91 NB over on-ramp from SR 702 EB (Wharton Brook Connector) in Wallingford.

Site 4-5 Bridges # 03406A/B, Route 40 over I-91 in North Haven.

RAMP DETOUR INFO – Site 3, Ramp from SR702 East to I-91 North

Closed from 9 p.m. Friday, October 11 to 5 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013.

Traffic will be detoured onto I-91 South to Exit 12, Washington Avenue, Route 5 and be directed south on Route 5 to the entrance ramp for I-91 North. 

DOT Project No. 0173-0421 was awarded to Odyssey Contracting Corp. of Houston, PA on January 1, 2013, at a cost of $2,413,525.00 and is scheduled for completion in July 2014.
