Nighttime Ramp Closures Scheduled for Interstate 84 Westbound Off Ramp to Route 8 North (Exit 20) in Waterbury from Tuesday, October 15 through Thursday, October 17, 2013
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the ramp to Route 8 north from I-84 westbound, Exit 20, in Waterbury is scheduled to be closed nightly from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15 through Thursday, October 17, 2013. The ramp closure is required to complete replacement of bridge joints on the structure.
The work consists of the removal of the existing bridge deck joints across the full width and replacement with new concrete and asphaltic plug joints.
This location is one of thirteen bridges that are being completed as part of DOT Project no. 0174-0364 was awarded to Arborio Corporation at a cost of $2,283,130.00 on July 26, 2013, and is scheduled to be completed November 22, 2014.
DETOUR INFO- 10/15/13 to 10/17/13 from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Route I-84 west off ramp to Route 8 north, Exit 20, closed.
Motorists will be detoured to Exit 18, West Main Street/Highland Avenue. The detour will direct motorists onto Highland Avenue then onto Chase Parkway where they will reenter I-84 east to Route 8 north ramp (Exit 20) which is a left exit.
