Nighttime Bridge Maintenance Will Require Closure of the Niantic River Drawbridge on Route 156 in East Lyme & Waterford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge maintenance will require the closure of the Niantic River Drawbridge on Route 156 in East Lyme & Waterford.

The work consists of routine maintenance on the Niantic River Drawbridge. This work is scheduled to occur from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, to Wednesday, December 11, 2013.

This work is being performed by state forces.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

The following detour will be implemented while work is being performed: Niantic River Rd. to Rt. 1, to Rt. 161, to Rt. 156 will be signed for both directions. A traffic sign pattern will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (Tuesday-Wednesday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
