Nighttime Bridge Maintenance along I-84 westbound in Hartford; Detour Required

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on the I-84 westbound Exit 51 ramp in Hartford overnight Tuesday and Wednesday, August 20-21, 2013. The project consists of repairing the bridge deck to the Exit 51 ramp over the Connecticut River. A detour will be required.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

      Motorists can expect the Ramp Closure at Exit 51 on I-84 westbound.  A Detour will be in place exiting traffic at the exit 50 Ramp (Main Street- Rt. 44) right onto Market Street and continuing straight onto the Rev. Moody Overpass and then Right onto Jennings Road, Left onto I-91 northbound exit 33. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns and a detour will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Tuesday Evening).

      Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
