New Schedule Moves Start of Work to May 14 for Installation of Steel for New CTfastrak Bridge in New Britain
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a change in the start date for daytime traffic impacts during the installation of structural steel for the new CTfastrak Bridge over East and Allen Streets in New Britain. The current schedule has the work beginning Tuesday, May 14, and taking approximately six weeks.
The project, also known as Contract C2 in the CTfastrak dedicated bus roadway program, includes construction of a portion of the busway beginning just north of Cedar Street in Newington and running south to an end point just west of Stanley Street in New Britain.

LANE CLOSURE INFO-

The installation of the steel will be taking place during daytime hours.  Motorists can expect delays and short term stoppages, however traffic impacts will be kept to a minimum.

Traffic may be diverted at times to reduce traffic delays.  Signs will be posted and the New Britain Police will be used to assist motorists through this area.  All work will occur weather permitting and will be rescheduled if necessary.

DOT Project No. 0088-0178 and 0093-0166 was awarded to E&S Joint Venture II of North Haven, Connecticut on March 22, 2012 at a cost of $39,427,150 and is scheduled to be completed in July 2014.
