Milling and Resurfacing project, Route 5 (State Street) in New Haven and Hamden

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.5 mile segment of Route 5 in New Haven and Hamden. This project is scheduled to occur Monday, May 20, 2013, to Wednesday, June 12, 2013.

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 5 (State Street) between James Street in New Haven and the Hamden/North Haven Town Line. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (weekdays). No work will be performed during the Memorial Day Holiday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
