The Connecticut Department of Transportation's Office of Engineering is developing plans to provide safety and capacity improvements at two sites on Newtown Road (S.R. 806) in Danbury.

Site 1 is located between the Public Works Complex and Plumtrees Road. The scope for site 1 also includes improvements at the Old Newtown Road and Newtown Road intersection. Site 2 is located between Eagle Road and Industrial Plaza Road. This project is to be combined with State Project No. 34-309: Intersection Improvement on Newtown Road (S.R. 806) at Old Shelter Rock Drive.

The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in December 2014, with construction anticipated to start in summer 2015. This project will be undertaken with 80 % Federal and 20 % State funds.

It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken.  It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development.  A public informational meeting will be conducted upon the completion of the preliminary design. At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing will be necessary.
