The closure is required for the construction of the Flatbush Avenue Bridge over CTfastrak and Amtrak Railroad, and the reconstruction of the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and New Park Avenue. At the conclusion of this stage, all vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be using the new bridge.

Flatbush Avenue will be closed between New Park Avenue and Newfield Avenue, and between New Park Avenue and Ahern Street in West Hartford and Hartford. Flatbush Avenue traffic will be detoured onto Newfield Avenue, New Britain Avenue, New Park Avenue, Talcott Road, and Quaker Lane South.

LANE CLOSURE INFO – effective October 7, 2013

Through-traffic on New Park Avenue will be maintained in both directions, with lane closures and traffic shifts used as necessary. No turns allowed from New Park Avenue onto eastbound or westbound Flatbush Avenue. Police will be stationed on New Park Avenue as necessary during lane closures.
