12/20/2013	Construction and Maintenance Activities Restricted on Major Expressways for Upcoming Christmas and New Year's Holidays The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that there will be no maintenance or construction activities on major expressways for the Christmas and New Year holiday periods. Only work of an emergency nature will be considered.

12/19/2013	Pavement Preservation on Route 82 , Towns of Chester and Haddam The purpose of this project is to enhance pavement performance by using a cost-effective treatment to extend the service life of the existing pavement. A section of Route 82, which runs through the Towns of Chester and Haddam, has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans for a 2.5” mill followed by 2” of hot mix asphalt over .5” thick rubberized chip seal on Route 82. The project begins in Chester and ends in Haddam for a total project length of approximately 2.75 miles.
12/16/2013	Public Information Meeting Concerning Proposed Design Plans for the Rehabilitation of Bridge Nos. 03399D, 03400D, and 03402A in Hartford (These bridges are part of the I-84, Sisson Avenue Interchange at Exit 46) The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 03399D, which carries I-84 TR 824 over Parking Lot, Bridge No. 03400D, which carries I-84 TR 823 over Parking Lot, and Bridge No. 03402A, which carries SR 503 WB over Amtrak Railroad and Capitol Avenue, in Hartford. These bridges are part of the I-84, Sisson Avenue Interchange at Exit 46. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Greater Hartford Transit District Offices, One Union Place, Hartford, Connecticut, 06103. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2013.
12/13/2013	New Traffic Signal at Route 139 and School Ground Road in Branford and North Branford The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a new traffic signal located on Route 139 and School Ground Road in the town of Branford and North Branford is scheduled to be in service Monday, January 6, 2014. A test period placing the signal on flash will begin Monday, December 30, 2013, for a seven day period.

12/11/2013	On Ramp to I-91 North from State Road 702 (Wharton Brook Connector) in Wallingford Closed Overnight Wednesday December 11, 2013 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the overnight closure of the on ramp to I-91 North from State Road 702 which is also referred to as the Wharton Brook Connector between U.S. Route 5 and Interstate 91. The closure is needed to remove temporary barrier along the shoulders to allow for work on the overpass.
12/10/2013	Nighttime Bridge Maintenance Will Require Closure of the Niantic River Drawbridge on Route 156 in East Lyme & Waterford The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that nighttime bridge maintenance will require the closure of the Niantic River Drawbridge on Route 156 in East Lyme & Waterford.
12/10/2013	Oakwood Avenue Bridge in West Hartford Completed One Year Ahead of Schedule and to Reopen to Full Lanes of Travel Thursday, December 12, 2013 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the work to complete the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 01757, Oakwood Avenue #2 over Interstate 84 in the Town of West Hartford is one year ahead of schedule. The bridge is scheduled to reopen to all lanes of traffic on Thursday, December 12, 2013.

12/3/2013	Traffic Shift Scheduled for Interstate 95 Northbound in Stratford and Milford as Construction Enters Next Stage for the Replacement Of the Moses Wheeler Bridge that Carries I-95 over the Housatonic River The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a traffic shift is scheduled for Saturday December 7, 2013, to realign Interstate 95 Northbound travel lanes and to allow for the demolition of the existing northbound lanes of the Moses Wheeler Bridge in Stratford and Milford.

11/26/2013	Nighttime Bridge Maintenance, Route 15 NB in New Canaan The project consists of the removal of loose and hollow concrete to the Route 15 Bridge under Ponus Ridge Road in New Canaan. This project is scheduled to occur on the evening of Tuesday, December 3, 2013, to the morning of Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
11/26/2013	Ramp Closure Rescheduled To Wednesday, December 4, 2013, for I-84 Eastbound Off-Ramp to Asylum Street, Exit 48A in Hartford The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the overnight closure scheduled for the I-84 eastbound off ramp to Asylum Street (Exit 48A) in Hartford is being rescheduled to Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The closure and detour is expected to be in place for one night and is subject to cancellation due to weather.
11/24/2013	CTDOT Announces Completion of Traffic Shift on I-95 NB All travel lanes on I-95 northbound between Kimberly Avenue (Exit 44) and the I-91 northbound connector (Exit 48) have been re-opened to traffic. Work previously scheduled to end at 3 PM on Saturday afternoon was completed ahead of schedule at approximately 7 AM on Saturday morning.
11/22/2013	MOTORIST REMINDER - Expect Weekend Traffic Impacts in New Haven Friday night, November 22 into Saturday afternoon, November 23, during traffic shifts for the Q Bridge/I-95 Corridor Project The Connecticut Department of Transportation is providing a reminder to motorists traveling in the New Haven area on Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23, 2013. Construction activity related to traffic shifts on I-95 Northbound between Exit 44, Kimberly Avenue and Exit 48, I-91 northbound are expected to cause significant traffic delays with work scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Friday, November 22 and continue through until 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 23.

11/14/2013	Installation of Temporary Precast Concrete Barrier on Route 15, Merritt Parkway in Stamford and New Canaan The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that temporary barrier is being installed along the right shoulders on Route 15 in Stamford and New Canaan. The barrier work will begin in the southbound direction just north of the Exit 37 off ramp in New Canaan starting Monday night, November 18, 2013.
11/7/2013	RESCHEDULED: Section of Oakwood Avenue in West Hartford To Be Closed to Traffic Tuesday, November 12, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Oakwood Avenue will be closed to traffic between Caya Avenue and Kane Street from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. The closure is required to pour the stage 2 concrete deck on the bridge. (This work was originally scheduled for Friday, November 8.)

11/5/2013	Nighttime Paving on Route 15 NB Exit 41 Ramps in Westport The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime pavement project will be performed on the Merritt Parkway (northbound) Exit 41 Off and On Ramps in Westport overnight, Friday-Saturday, November 8-9, 2013.
11/4/2013	Public Hearing/Scoping Meeting for State Project No. 135-301 – Reconstruction of Atlantic Street in the City of Stamford and the Replacement of the Existing Metro-North Railroad Bridge over Atlantic Street The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a Joint Public Hearing and Public Scoping Meeting for State Project No. 135-301, which involves the reconstruction of Atlantic Street in the city of Stamford (City) and the replacement of the existing Metro-North Railroad (MNRR) Bridge over Atlantic Street (Bridge No. 08012R). 10/31/2013	Flower Street Pedestrian RR Crossing in Hartford to Close; Temporary Path will be Available The pedestrian crossing over railroad tracks on Flower Street in Hartford will be closed as of Monday, November 11, 2013; however, pedestrians will still be able to use a temporary path that will be in place by the time of the closing. A permanent multi-use walkway is under construction and will be completed by Thanksgiving (November 28).

The project is utilizing Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) methods to minimize construction time and inconvenience to the traveling public.

10/24/2013	Update – Glastonbury/Wethersfield: No Directional Weekend Closures are Currently Scheduled for Route 3 Southbound on the William H. Putnam Bridge over the Connecticut River The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that no full directional closures for Route 3 southbound are currently scheduled for this project. Traffic will continue to be reduced to a single lane in each direction during weekends to facilitate the bridge reconstruction activities. Any potential full directional closure scenarios that may be required will be advertised a minimum of two weeks in advance.

10/16/2013	I-95 Bridge and Auxiliary Lane Work in Norwalk The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the opening of the Cedar Street bridge and the closing of both Taylor Avenue and Fairfield Avenue overpasses in Norwalk for the I-95 Interchange 14 (Route 1) and 15 (Route 7) reconstruction to add auxiliary lanes on the Interstate 95.
10/15/2013	Intermittent Late Night Closures of Interstate 84 in the Vicinity of Exit 44 in West Hartford The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing intermittent nighttime closures of I-84 in both directions at the Oakwood Avenue Bridge located between Exit 43, Park Road, and Exit 44, Prospect Avenue in West Hartford. 1/7/2013	Connecticut Department of Transportation Request for Public Comments for Project No. 76-193, Intersection Improvements on I-84 Exit 63 Eastbound on/off Ramps with Route 30 and Route 83 in Manchester, Connecticut This project was presented at a public informational meeting held on May 17, 2012 at the Lincoln Center, Manchester. The project will require temporarily closing portions of two trails associated with the Hockanum River Linear Park during project construction: the Union Pond Hiking Trail and the Oakland Hiking Trail.
