Chestnut Street On-Ramp to Route 9 Northbound in New Britain will be closed Tuesday, October 15, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. 

      The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Chestnut Street On-Ramp to Route 9 Northbound in New Britain will be closed Tuesday, October 15, 2013 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.  The closure affects only the on-ramp. 

      The closure is necessary for removal of a large crane that was used to construct the new bridge over route 9 that carries CTfastrak buses.

      DOT Project No. 0088-0177 (Contract C1) was awarded to Manafort Brothers Inc. of Plainville, Connecticut on March 22, 2012 at a cost of $26,718,482.80.  Contract C1 is the CTfastrak project from Main Street to Stanley Street in New Britain. The project is being administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction District 4, Thomaston and is scheduled to be completed by November 2014.
