Weekend Closures of Route 130 (Fairfield Avenue) in Bridgeport Scheduled for October Starting Friday, October 5, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 130, Fairfield Avenue, from Commerce Drive to Railroad Avenue eastbound will be closed to traffic the weekend of October 5-7.  Alternate closure dates due to weather or unforeseen circumstances will be October 12-14, and October 19-20, 2012.
The weekend closures are required for the placement of a crane and setting of new structural steel beams for the railroad bridge over Fairfield Avenue.
Modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. The weekends of October 12-14 and October 19-21 are the alternate closure dates.
DETOUR INFO - Route 130 will be closed during the following hours:

- Friday from 9 p.m. to Saturday 7 a.m.

- Saturday 9 p.m. to Monday 6 a.m.

The road will be open to traffic on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Signs will be in place to direct traffic around the closure. Detour routes are:

- Cars will use Pine Street, Bostwick Avenue and State Street.

- Truck traffic will use Pine Street, Wordin Avenue and State Street.

The work is part of a project to overhaul the overhead railroad Catenary wire system and replace five bridges on the New Haven Rail Line between Bridgeport and Fairfield. The contract was awarded to Ducci Electrical Contractors of Torrington, CT, in April 2007 and the current schedule has the project completed in December 2013.
