Weekend Closures of Route 130 (Fairfield Avenue) in Bridgeport Scheduled for Friday, September 7, to Monday, September 10, and Friday, September 14, to Monday, September 17, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 130 (Fairfield Avenue) from Commerce Drive to Railroad Avenue eastbound will be closed to traffic beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, September 7 until Monday, September 10, at 6 a.m., and again on Friday, September 14, beginning at 9 p.m. until Monday, September 17, at 6 a.m.

Ongoing night work at other times remains in effect and will occur Sunday through Friday from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

The weekend closures are required for the placement of a crane and setting of new structural steel beams for the railroad bridge over Fairfield Avenue.

Detour Info:

Signs will be in place to direct traffic around the closure.

-  Cars will use Pine Street, Bostwick Avenue and State Street.

-  Truck traffic will use Pine Street, Wordin Avenue and State Street.

The work is part of a project to overhaul the overhead Catenary wire system and replace five bridges on the New Haven Rail Line between Bridgeport and Fairfield.  The contract was awarded to Ducci Electrical Contractors of Torrington, CT, in April 2007 and the current schedule has the project completed in December 2013.
