Utility Project on I-95 North and Southbound in Waterford
The utility project consists of the installation of overhead transmission lines.  Motorists can expect intermittent lane closures to occur on I-95 North and Southbound between Exit 81 (Waterford Parkway) and Exit 82 (Route 85) in Waterford.  This project is scheduled to occur Wednesday, December 5, 2012. This project is being performed under an Encroachment Permit for CL&P and will require use of a helicopter to install the overhead transmission lines.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
The regular work schedule for this project is 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Wednesday).  State police will perform approximately four (4) controlled stops using a “rolling roadblock” procedure.  Each stop should be no longer than five (5) minutes total.  Traffic will be allowed to return to normal flow as soon as the wire is secured after each stop.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  The alternate work date is Thursday, December 6, 2012.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
