Traffic Control Signal Installations/Revisions at Various Locations in the Greater Hartford Area
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is developing plans to install/revise traffic control signals at the following locations:
Project No. 171-340: Rocky Hill/Wethersfield, Route 3 (Maple Street) at Waters Avenue, Two Stone Drive and Griswold Road; Vernon, Route 83 (Talcottville Road) at Naek Road.
Project No. 171-342: Berlin, Route 9 Southbound Off Ramp at Christian Lane; Cheshire, Route 10 (Highland Avenue) at Maple Avenue and Pleasant Drive; Hartford, I-91 Northbound Ramps at Brainard Road; Manchester, U.S. Routes 44 and 6 (West Center Street) at Falknor Drive; Newington, Route 175 (Cedar Street) at Route 9 Northbound Off Ramp and SR 505 (Fenn Road); Newington, Route 176 (Main Street and Hartford Avenue) at Main Street and Stoddard Avenue; Newington, Route 176 (Main Street) at Mountain Road and North Mountain Road; Plainville, SR 536 (Woodford Avenue) at Route 72 Eastbound Off Ramp and Meriline Avenue; Rocky Hill, Route 160 (Elm Street) at Bailey Road; Rocky Hill, Route 99 (Main Street) at Garden Street and Dividend Road; Somers, Route 190 (Main Street) at Shaker Road and Maple Street; Southington, Route 322 (Meriden Waterbury Turnpike) at South End Road; Vernon, SR 533 (Tunnel Road) at SR 541 (South Frontage Road); West Hartford, U.S. Route 44 (Albany Avenue) at Steele Road and North Steele Road; Wethersfield, Route 3 (Maple Street) at Elm Street; Wethersfield, Route 314 (Jordan Lane) at Drive to Senior Center; Windsor Locks, Route 140 (Elm Street) at Center Street and South Center Street.
Project No. 171-352: Meriden, Route 71 (Old Colony Road and Cook Avenue) at Flower Street and South Colony Street; Newington, Route 175 (Cedar Street and East Cedar Street) at Route 176 (Main Street); Southington, Route 10 (Main Street) at Columbus Avenue and Berlin Avenue. 
It is the Department’s policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken and it is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the projects’ development.  If there is adequate interest, an information meeting will be conducted.  At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing will be necessary.
These projects will be funded with local, state and federal funds and are currently scheduled to be advertised July 11, 2012.
