Eastern Connecticut
The Connecticut Department of Transportation Developing Plans to Replace/Install Traffic Control Signals in Eastern Connecticut at the following locations:
Project No.172-384: Durham- Route 17 at Pickett Lane.
Project No.172-386: Canterbury- Route 14 at Route 169; Colchester- Route 354 at SR 637; Durham- Route 17 at Route 147 and Haddam Quarter Road; East Lyme- Route 161 at Society Road; Franklin- Route 32 at SR 610 and Manning Road; Franklin- Route 32 at Route 207; Griswold- Route 164 at SR 630 and I-395 off-ramp; Groton- Route 184 at Antonino Road; Groton- Route 1 at Route 349 SB ramps;  Groton- Route 1 at Route 349 NB ramps; Groton- Route 349 SB ramps at Bridge Street #1 and Route 1 EB Connector; Groton- Route 184 at Buddington Road; New London- Route 32 at SR 437 and Water Street; Plainfield- Route 12 at Route 14 (E. Main) S. Jct; Preston- Route 2A at Route 12  S. Jct; Tolland- Route 195 at Rhodes Road and Goose Lane; Tolland- Route 30/74 at Mountain Spring Road; Windham- Route 66 at SR 661 and Jackson Road.  

Project No.172-398: New London- Route 1 (Bank Street) at Route 213 (Ocean Avenue) and Route 1 (Bank Street and Jefferson Avenue) at SR641 (Bank Street); New London- SR 641 (Bank Street) at Montauk Avenue and SR 641 (Bank Street and Truman Street) at Bank Street and Shaw Street.

It is the Department’s policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken and it is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the projects’ development.  If there is adequate interest, an informational meeting will be conducted.  At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing will be necessary. 

The projects are currently scheduled to be advertised September 5, 2012.  The projects will be funded with town, state and federal funds.
