Route 148 in Chester Closed To Through Traffic Beginning Monday, October 1, 2012
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 148 between Main Street and East Liberty Street in the Town of Chester is scheduled to be closed to through traffic on October 1, 2012. The closure is planned to last 56 days with normal traffic operations resuming on November 25, 2012.
The Contractor will be closing the road to remove the existing bridge structure, install the new precast concrete box culvert across Route 148, and to complete full-depth reconstruction of the roadway.
DETOUR INFO- Traffic will be detoured onto Route 154 and Main Street. Local access to area businesses and residents will be maintained. Construction signs have been installed to guide traffic around the project site.
