Replacement of Expansion Joints on Various Structures on I-84, I-691, I-91, Route 2, and I-384 in the towns of Southington, Hartford, East Hartford and Manchester
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of a project on April 9, 2012 to complete replacement of expansion joints on twelve bridges along I-84, I-691, I-91, Route 2, and I-384 in the towns of Southington, Hartford, East Hartford and Manchester. 

The project involves the replacement of the existing expansion joint systems and includes some concrete header repairs on twelve bridges.  The location of the bridges are as follows:

I-84 east and west over the Hockanum River in Manchester (Site 9)

Monday – Thursday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friday – 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m.

I-91 North in Hartford (Site 12)

Monday – Friday from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Special advisory (Site 12) - Weekend work April 13, 2012 from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday with work to be completed the weekend of April 29, 2012.  The work will require reducing I-91 northbound traffic to one lane. Additional information will be provided two weeks prior to weekend work at this site.

DOT Project No 0171-0351 was awarded to Arborio Corporation of Cromwell, CT on January 27, 2012, at a cost of $1,529,995.00 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2012.
