Rehabilitation of U.S. Route 1 (Tresser Boulevard) over the Rippowam River in Stamford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work to rehabilitate Bridge No. 03824 carrying U.S. Route 1 (Tresser Boulevard) over the Rippowam River in Stamford has commenced.

The project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing precast bridge deck, including the parapets, sidewalks and roadway approaches.  The traffic signals are also being upgraded as part of the work.

The work will be completed in several stages with the first stage closing the shoulders in the north and south sides of the bridge and a subsequent stage reducing travel lanes over bridge.  Additional notices will be provided prior to new stages of construction.

Sidewalks will be open to pedestrian traffic during the current stage of construction.  Expect lane closures Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

DOT Project No. 0135-0291 was awarded to Rotha Contracting Co., Inc. at a cost of $3,795,328.60 on February 14, 2012 and is scheduled to be completed July 25, 2013.
