Rehabilitation of Bridge No. 00606 Carrying Route 8 Southbound over Campville Road in the Town of Litchfield
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work is scheduled to start April 12, 2012 on Route 8 southbound at Exit 41, Campville Road in the town of Litchfield.  Route 8 southbound will be reduced to one lane during construction which is scheduled to be completed in August 2013.

The project involves removal and replacement of the existing superstructure including bearings, and excavation of roadway approaches to the bridge.  The work will be completed under stage construction with the first stage requiring the closing of the left lane of Route 8 southbound using precast concrete barriers, signs and pavement markings.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Route 8 southbound will be shifted to the right and reduced to one lane of travel.

Motorists are advised to reduce speed through the work zone and should expect minor delays. 

DOT Project No. 0073-0174 was awarded January 13, 2012 to Black & Warner Construction Company of Unionville, Connecticut at a cost of $1,162,512.50.  The project will be administered by the Department of Transportation, Office of Construction, District 4 in Thomaston and is scheduled to be completed in August 2013.
