The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work on April 2, 2012 for the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 05868, Exit 51 on I-84 Eastbound to I-91 Northbound.  The work will also require ramp closures for six (6) weekends starting on April 27, 2012.

The project work will involve the replacement of four (4) expansion joints on Bridge No. 05868, known as the flyover from I-84 East (Exit 51) to I-91 north.  Additional work will also occur on some of the piers and includes crack repairs and a protective coating system.  A section of the bridge deck will also be milled and paved.

LANE CLOSURE INFO- (Not including the weekend closures)

Interstate 84 Eastbound and I-91 Northbound

• Monday - Friday 9 am to 3 pm and 6 pm to 6 am

             

Morgan Street and Market Street in Hartford

• Monday – Friday 9 pm to 6 am

DETOUR INFO-

Motorists can expect six (6) weekend closures of Exit 51 on I-84 Eastbound to I-91 Northbound starting April 27, 2012. Exit 51 will be closed to traffic from 11 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday.

Detour: I-84 East Exit 52, right hand exit, to I-91 South for approximately 1.8 miles to Exit 27 (Airport Road), go left on Airport Road for  about 0.2 miles to entrance ramp on the right for I-91 North.

DOT Project No. 0063-0639 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. of Plantsville, CT, on December 12, 2012 at a cost of $819,425.00 and is scheduled to be completed on June 28, 2012.
