Railroad Crossing Repairs on Inland Road/Paper Mill Road in Sprague – Detour Required
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that railroad crossing repairs will be performed on Inland Road/Paper Mill Road in Sprague. The railroad crossing repair project will require Inland Road/Paper Mill Road to be closed at the Providence & Worcester railroad crossing for three consecutive days beginning Tuesday, September 11, 2012, through Thursday, September 13, 2012.
The detour is scheduled to be in place from 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday through 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The detour is as follows:
- Southbound traffic will be diverted to Route 138, then to Riverside Drive.
- Northbound traffic will be diverted to Riverside Drive, then to Route 138. Northbound truck traffic for Fusion Paperboard will be directed to use Exit 83 from I-395 to Route 97 North, to Route 138 East, then to Paper Mill Road/Inland Road.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
