Public Informational Meeting Concerning Proposed Safety Improvements on Route 133 (Main Street South) in Bridgewater
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a Public Informational Meeting concerning proposed safety improvements on Route 133 (Main Street South) on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the Burnham School gymnasium, 80 Main Street South, Bridgewater, Connecticut.  A design presentation will be made at 7:00 p.m. with a question and answer period immediately following.
The project is identified as State Project Number 16-98.
The proposed project includes upgrade of the guiderail along Route 133 from the Lake Lillinonah Bridge to Wewaka Brook Road for a length of approximately one mile.  In addition, approximately 3,000 feet of the roadway will be reconstructed to allow for proper guiderail installation.  During construction, Route 133 is to be closed to traffic for an anticipated duration of five months.  State routes are planned to be used for the detour of traffic.
Construction is anticipated during the Spring/Summer of 2015, based on the availability of funding. The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $10 million.
The Public Informational Meeting is being held to afford a full opportunity for public participation and to allow open discussion of any views and comments the community may have concerning this proposed project.
Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend this meeting and requiring an interpreter, must make arrangements by contacting the Department’s Office of Communications at (860) 594-3062 (voice only) at least five working days prior to the meeting.
Plans of the proposed project will be on display for public review.  Department personnel will be available during the meeting to discuss this project.  More detailed information is available at the Department’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Anyone wishing to discuss the project may contact Mr. Timothy Wilson at (860) 594-3189 or by e-mail at timothy.wilson@ct.gov. Plans are also available for review at the Bridgewater Town Hall.
