Project No. 0085-0142, Pavement Preservation on I-395 in the Towns of Montville, Norwich, and Lisbon
The Connecticut Department of Transportation's (Department) Office of Engineering is implementing a Pavement Preservation Program for the 2013 construction season.
The purpose of this program is to enhance pavement performance by using cost-effective treatments to extend the service life of the existing pavement. A section of Interstate 395, which runs through the Towns of Montville, Norwich, and Lisbon, has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans to mill three (3) inches of existing pavement and pave three (3) inches of hot mix asphalt. The project will begin in Montville at mile point 9.29 and end in Lisbon at mile point 18.34 to provide a total project length of approximately 9.05 miles. In addition, approximately 5.90 miles of ramp will be included.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in October, 2012, with construction anticipated to start in Spring 2013. This project will be undertaken with 90 % Federal and 10 % State funds.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development. It is not anticipated that an informational meeting or a formal public hearing will be held for this project due to the limited nature of the proposed work.
Anyone interested in receiving information on this project may do so by contacting Mr. Timothy M. Wilson, Manager of Highway Design, at (860) 594-3189, or by e-mail at Timothy.Wilson@ct.gov. Please make reference to State Project Number 0085-0142.
