Project No. 0014-0183 , Pavement Preservation I-95 Northbound , Town of Branford
The  Connecticut  Department  of  Transportation's  (Department)  Office  of  Engineering  is implementing a Pavement Preservation Program for the 2013 construction season.
The purpose of this program is to enhance pavement performance by using cost-effective treatments to extend the service life of the existing pavement. A section of Interstate 95, which runs through the Town of Branford, has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans to surface patch and crack fill the Interstate 95 Northbound mainline, with some milling and paving occurring at the Exit 53 and 54 off ramps. The project will begin at the north end of the bridge crossing Lake Saltonstall at mile point 51.17 and end at Exit 54, the interchange of State Route 740 at mile point 53.19 to provide a total project length of approximately 2.02 miles. In addition, approximately 0.5 miles of ramp will be included.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in November 2012, with construction anticipated to start in Spring 2013. This project will be undertaken with 90 % Federal and 10 % State funds.
It is the Department's policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken. It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development. It is not anticipated that an informational meeting or a formal public hearing will be held for this project due to the limited nature of the proposed work.
