Overhead Sign Replacement Project on Various Roads in Bridgeport, Waterbury, Plainville, Newington, Manchester, and Groton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of work for the replacement of overhead sign supports and signs on Route 8 in Bridgeport, I-84 and Leonard Street in Waterbury, I-84 in Plainville and Manchester, Route 9 in Newington and I-95 in Groton.

* Shoulder closures allowed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and after 6 p.m. on most roadways. The contractor will be allowed to halt traffic for ten minute intervals between 12:01 a.m. and 5 a.m. on all non-Holiday periods.

DOT Project no. 0170-2773 was awarded to Mohegan Associates, Inc., on May 1, 2012, at a cost of $1,698,181.50 and is scheduled to be completed in November 12, 2013.
