The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a reminder to all motorists that a weekend closure of the Exit 51 flyover ramp from I-84 East to I-91 North is scheduled for Friday night, June 8, 2012, beginning at 11 p.m. and continuing over weekend until 5 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012.  The closure is necessary to facilitate replacement of 4 bridge expansion joints on the ramp.

Weekend Closures are also scheduled to occur June 15-17, and June 22-24, weather permitting.

Planned Detour: I-84 East Exit 52, right hand exit, to I-91 South for approximately 1.8 miles to Exit 27 (Airport Road).  After turning left on Airport Road, turn right at the traffic signal onto Brainard Road, and take a right onto Route 5/15 north.   Travelers need to follow Route 15 north to I-91 north.

Motorists are advised that other alternate routes may be available and to plan ahead.

DOT Project No. 0063-0639 was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. of Plantsville, CT on December 12, 2012 at a cost of $819,425.00 and is scheduled to be completed by July 2012.
