Milling and Resurfacing Project, Route 85 in Colchester

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 85 (West Road) in Colchester.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a three mile segment of Route 85 (West Road) in Colchester between the Salem Town Line and Lake Hayward Road (SR 637). This project is scheduled to occur Friday, August 31, 2012 to Tuesday, September 11, 2012.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2012 milling and resurfacing program.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (weekdays). No work will occur on Monday, September 3, 2012 due to the Labor Day holiday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
