Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 171 (Somers Turnpike) in Woodstock, Thompson, and Putnam

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that milling and resurfacing will be performed on Route 171 between the north junction of Route 169 in Woodstock and Route 44 (School Street) in Putnam. This project is expected to occur Tuesday, May 8, 2012 to Friday, June 1, 2012.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday). No work will be performed during the Memorial Day Holiday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
