Alternating One Way Traffic to Begin Wednesday, April 25, 2012, for Bridge Rehabilitation Project on Route 6 over Steele Brook in Watertown
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that alternating one way traffic using temporary signalization will be in effect beginning Wednesday, April 25, 2012, for bridge work on U.S. 6 over Steele Brook in Watertown.

The project consists of the removal and replacement of Bridge No. 00464 carrying U.S. 6 over Steele Brook in Watertown.  The contractor will be installing new bridge beams, concrete deck, parapets and sidewalk as well as reconstructing the bridge approaches.

Alternating one way traffic using a temporary signal will be in effect until end of October 2012. 

 

Special advisory- Bowers Street will be closed to through traffic at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Bowers Street. Local traffic on Bowers Street will enter and exit Bowers street near the intersection of U.S. 6 and Nova Street.

DOT Project no. 0153-0120 was awarded on August 22, 2011 to Mastrobattisto, Inc. at a cost of $762,372.17 and is scheduled to be completed by November 2012.
