Whalley Avenue (Route 63) in the vicinity of Route 69 to be realigned to the east with one lane in each direction for road reconstruction beginning Thursday, April 14, 2011
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Whalley Avenue from Glenview Terrace to Ramsdell Street will be realigned to the east with one lane in each direction at 9 AM on Thursday, April 14, 2011 for reconstruction of the west side of Whalley Avenue. Completion of this portion of work is scheduled for May 14, 2011.
The contractor will be working in the road to perform full-depth road reconstruction on the west side of Whalley Avenue from Glenview Terrace to Ramsdell Street. This will require realigning the roadway to the east, maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction. This alignment will remain in effect continuously for the duration of this stage of work.
The work is part of DOT Project No. 0092-0547, for the reconstruction of Route 63 (Whalley Avenue).  A contract was awarded to Complete Construction Company on June 2, 2009 at a cost of $9,316.671.00, and it is scheduled for completion by June 16, 2011.
