Weekend Closure of Route 68 & 70 (West Main Street) in Cheshire Scheduled For Friday Night, November 18, until Monday Morning, November 21, 2011 --- Access to Businesses and Residences will be Maintained at all Times
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Route 68 & 70 (West Main Street) will be closed to thru-traffic between Willow Street and Railroad Avenue in Cheshire from 8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 until 6 a.m. Monday morning, November 21, 2011. Please note that access to businesses and residences will me maintained at all times during the closure.

The road closure is required to install twin 5 foot by 7 foot box culverts under the road that will carry the Farmington Canal. 

DETOUR INFORMATION

Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists will be detoured around the closed area via Willow Street, Cornwall Avenue and Mountain Road.  Click here to view the detour map.

Local access to businesses and residences between mountain road and willow street will be maintained during the weekend closure.

DOT Project No. 0025-0140 was awarded to Mastrobattisto Inc. of Bristol, CT, on March 25, 2011, at a value of $987,113.80 and is scheduled for completion in June 2012.
